Frequently asked questions.

What are the quarantine requirements for entry to Bangladesh?

If you plan to travel to Bangladesh during the global restrictions you’ll need to carry a health certificate, obtained not earlier than 72 hours before travel, stating that you are not infected with Coronavirus. The medical certificate needs to be submitted on arrival at the Bangladesh point of entry (airport/seaport/land port).  You might then be advised to remain under quarantine for two weeks. Health officials at the entry points would decide this.

How does Off Track Journeys ensure proper safety and hygiene on its tours?

All private hire vehicles used on tour are regularly cleaned and disinfected throughout.
All drivers and other contractors employed by Off Track Journeys are required to provide proof they are covid free.
We encourage regular hand washing and provide sanitising gel for when washing facilities are not available.
We encourage physical distancing whenever possible.

Will I be expected to wear a face mask on tour?

Subject to prevailing conditions at the time of your tour it may be necessary to wear a face mask and you will be advised accordingly.  It may be compulsory to wear a mask in public or in certain places and likewise we will advise you accordingly.

Should visitors bring their own face masks or do you provide them?

You should bring a supply of face masks with you.  In the event of an emergency we are able to provide a limited supply of face masks.

Do I need to bring hand sanitiser?

Yes.  We seek to provide a limited amount of hand sanitiser for use by our clients, though in some locations it is still in short supply. As such we recommend bringing your own personal supply.

Will I be covered by my travel insurance if I get COVID-19 while travelling?

We recommend that you check directly with your travel insurance provider for more details about the specific cover, as many insurance companies are amending their policies to better accommodate the effects of the COVID-19 whilst travelling.

What if there is a suspected or confirmed case of COVID-19 on my tour?

If you or someone else on your trip has symptoms of COVID-19 while travelling with us, we will assist in seeking medical care. We will follow the advice of local health authorities on whether a COVID-19 test is required, whether there is a need to self-isolate or quarantine or whether there is a risk to other travellers in the group. Should COVID-19 be confirmed, full health and safety protocols will be followed, including informing local health authorities and the group of the potential exposure. Extensive sanitisation protocols such as deep cleaning and disinfecting accommodation and transport will then be undertaken. Please note that while we will assist to ensure that you get all the medical care you require but all expenses for testing, treatment or self-isolation will be at your own personal cost.
