Sylhet is a division located in the northeast of Bangladesh and is packed with places to go and sights to see.  It’s a place where all tourists find something interesting. Top five tourist attractions  in Sylhet:

  1. Tamabil & Jaflong is famous for picturesque landscapes, waterfalls, stone collecting activities in the Dawki River, Tea plantations and tribal life. You might not want to miss the opportunity of the boat journey to Jaflong zero point.
  2. Lalakhal is a popular tourist destination in Sylhet for the river cruise at the Shari River. This wonderful river with crystal clear blue water evolved  from hills of Meghalaya State of India. You can make a stop at Sharighat boat station  on the way to Jaflong or on the way back to Sylhet from Jaflong.  A couple of hours cruise at the Shari River will be a mesmerising experience of your Sylhet trip. The bracing air, busyness of sand collectors in the clear water blue water, high hill view of Indian high hills, local life in the both side  of the river will make your trip memorable . If you want, you can arrange your lunch at Lalakal Riverside restaurant, however, pre booking is required for the lunch.
  3. Ratargul is the only fresh water swamp forest in Bangladesh.  It is located in Shari Goyan River of Gowainghat Upazilla. This spot has become popular among the local and international tourists in recent years.  You need to travel at Ratargul Boat station first to visit the forest. You must need to take a boat to discover this forest whether  you travel there  in the winter or monsoon.  It is about an hour drive to Ratargul boat station from Sylhet by CNG or reserved car.  Please note that, you would not find any good restaurant around Ratargul, therefore it is advisable  to take packed lunch for your convenience .  Depending on the season, you might have to spend around 1000- 2000 for an hour long trip into the forest.
  4. Bichanakandi is located in the border of Bangladesh and India.  The picturesque hill view, the carpet of stones, rural life down to the hills, sand& stone collecting activities are the main attarctions at Bichanakandi.  You can combine Ratargul and Bichankandi for a day long trip from Sylhet.
  5. Khadimnagar National Park is located at Khadimnagar which about 14.00km away from the Sylhet city centre.  The total area of this park is about 680 ha. About 352 species of plants, 20 reptile species, 25 bird species and 26 mammal species have been recorded in this forest.
