    1. Day1 Arrival and afternoon shoot

Taking advantage of the morning light, our day starts early, and on foot. We will walk through the narrow streets of villages and along the cobbled roads of tea plantations. An opportunity to witness the everyday life of local people as they start their day – on foot, on bicycles and often crammed into the back of farm vehicles. Trucks laden with fruit and vegetables going to market, smallholders with their animals tilling the land and tea pickers ready to begin a new day in the plantations. Its an enlightening experience with potential to provide many good photographs. After this we return to the cottage for a hearty breakfast. Later in the morning we will visit some tea plantations and tribal villages where we can experience the deftness of pickers at work and the culture of tribal people. After an early lunch, and for a complete change of scenery, we will drive to the wetland areas. Here we will capture the soft tones of the afternoon and setting sun on a watery landscape. Overnight in Srimangal.

    2. Day2 Full day shooting in and around Srimangal

This morning we will spend some time in the tea pickers villages to see and learn about these hardworking people, giving an insight into their close-knit communities. Next we will visit the railway station – both locations providing excellent opportunities for some great photographs. We will also visit a brick factory, where you will witness the enormity of this industry – with line after line of bricks, towering chimneys and workers laced with red dust, all lending itself perfectly to atmospheric images. We will visit a village where the art of weaving has long been practised and handed down from generation to generation, and the late afternoon will be spent in the countryside. After this we will return to the cottage to rest and refresh before heading out to a local restaurant for dinner. This evening there will be an opportunity to review the photographs taken during the last two days.
