    1. Day 1 Arrival in Dhaka

      Arrival in Dhaka. Transfer to hotel 71 in down town Dhaka where you will stay overnight.

      Dhaka – a place bursting with some 17 million people, gloriously chaotic and noisy and somewhere you will remember far into the future.  Initially the experience can be overwhelming, but you’ll soon move to the rhythm and embrace this furiously beating heart of Bengali culture.

    2. Day 2 Dhaka city tour

      A full day tour of Dhaka. Today you will explore some popular tourist spots, including Lalbag Fort and Ahsan Manzil.  You will also visit the narrow streets in the old town of Dhaka – a place packed with interesting sights, and open markets, the vegetable and fish markets and the main railway station. Overnight stay in Dhaka.

    3. Day 3 People and Culture in Dhaka

      A second full day tour of Dhaka. Finish the day with dinner at one of Dhaka’s many excellent restaurants before returning to the hotel in readiness for our onward journey to Rajshahi tomorrow.  Overnight stay in Dhaka.

    4. Day 4 Journey to Rajshahi

      We board the morning train for Rajshahi in the northern division of Bangladesh (the journey will take approximately 7 hours).  Sit back and relax and enjoy the opportunity to see some of the idyllic rural countryside of Bangladesh.  At Rajshahi you will experience the sunset from the banks of the sacred Ganges River followed by a visit to the bustling evening market in the city. Overnight stay in Rajshahi.

    5. Day 5 Exploring around Rajshahi

      Today we embark on a full tour of the city of Rajshahi.  In addition to our city tour we will visit an outlying village and the river islands – the stunning landscapes of which are bound to steal the attention of your camera.  Overnight stay in Rajshahi.

       

    6. Day 6 Travel to Bogra

      Another travel experience awaits as we take the morning bus to Bogra.  This city is known as the commercial capital of north Bengal (the journey will take 3 hours). A sprawling town, Bogra is the best base for trips to Bangladesh’s most famous and impressive archaeological sites.  It’s also the closest major town to the Indian border at Hili.  Overnight stay in Bogra.

    7. Day 7 Full day activities around in Bogra

      A full and exciting day that is bound to satisfy all interests.  We start with a visit to some local archaeological sites in Mahastan, followed by a visit to a ‘char’ (islands made from silt and sand deposits) along the Jamuna River at Sariakandi.  After that we head to the largest vegetable market in the region and along the way we travel to and through villages and beautiful farmlands. Overnight stay in Bogra.

    8. Day8 Morning bus to Dinajpur

      We take the morning bus to Dinajpur, a district town in northern Bangladesh (approximately 3-4 hours journey). Dinajpur is famous for the Kantanagar Terracotta Hindu Temple.  We will visit Ramsagar – the largest man-made lake in Bangladesh, some rural areas and also Dinajpur Royal Palace. If you’re a photography enthusiast you’ll find Dinjapur a veritable heaven for landscape photography!  Two nights stay in Dinajpur.

    9. Day 9 Full day activities in Dinajpur

      We will visit Ramsagar, the largest man-made lake in Bangladesh, some rural areas and also Dinajpur Royal Palace. If you’re a photography enthusiast you’ll find Dinjapur a veritable heaven for landscape photography!

    10. Day 10 Afternoon flight to Dhaka

      Today we drive to Saidpur airport to catch the afternoon flight to Dhaka. Overnight stay in Dhaka.

    11. Day 11 Train journey to Srimangal

      We catch the morning train/bus to Srimangal (approximately 5 hours journey).  Srimangal is an area of outstanding beauty and well known as the tea capital of Bangladesh. With its rolling hills carpeted in endless tea plantations, dense forest areas and a sprinkling of tribal villages, this place will impress. Overnight stay in Srimangal.

    12. Day 12 Full day activities in Srimangal

      Today offers an array of opportunities, from a walk in the jungle, to cycling (optional), visiting a tribal village and a visit to nearby lakes and tea plantations. Overnight stay in Srimangal.

    13. Day 13 Move to Sylhet

      Onward to Sylhet by local transport, with a journey time of approximately 2 hours. Blessed with glistening rice paddies, wetland marshes, forested nature reserves and a landscape capturing every colour of green.  The beauty of Sylhet calls out to nature lovers everywhere. The afternoon will be spent exploring Sylhet – the main city of northwestern Bangladesh.  Overnight stay in Sylhet.

    14. Day 14 Full day activities in Sylhet

      Today we visit Ratargul swamp forest, 35km northwest of Sylhet.  Ratargul is the only freshwater swamp forest in Bangladesh and an area of outstanding beauty.  Enjoy the peaceful surrounds as you wind your way around meandering water channels in a wooden country boat, and keep a lookout for wildlife.  The area is a refuge for a variety of bird species including kingfishers, cranes, cormorants and herons.

    15. Day 15 Back to Dhaka

      All aboard the morning train/bus to Dhaka with an approximate travel time of 7-8 hours.  Take the time to enjoy the countryside on the journey and look forward to your last dinner in Dhaka this evening.  Overnight stay in Dhaka.

    16. Day 16 Tour end

      An opportunity to relax and check out from the hotel at a leisurely pace before transferring to the airport to catch your flight home.
