Our Old Dhaka Tour will provide the best experience of the local life and rich culture of Old Dhaka.  The existence of a settlement in the area now known as Dhaka dates back to the 7th century. Initially ruled by the Buddhist kingdom of Kamarupa, before passing to the control of the Sena Hindu dynasty in the 9th century. After the Sena empire Dhaka was ruled by the Sultanate of Bengal until it was taken over by the Mughal rulers and established as the capital in 1610.  At this time many remarkable monuments were built, and remain to this day, representing the glorious past of Dhaka.  The old part of Dhaka is situated alongside the banks of the mighty Buriganga River.  Old Dhaka is renowned for its variety of foods and amicable living of people from different religions in harmony. Our specialised tour guide will take you to well known tourist spots as well as lesser known locations in the area.  Adding to the excitement of this tour, you will be taken on a short boat ride on the Buriganga River and walk through the busy and narrow streets of old Dhaka.

The Old Dhaka Tour is an intensive full day sightseeing experience.  You will be collected from your accommodation at approximately 08.00am, with the trip concluding  by 4.30pm.
