Srimangal is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Bangladesh, and with good reason. Located in the Maulavibazar district in northeastern Bangladesh it has a great deal to offer tourists. Rolling hills carpeted with tea plantations; rubber plantations, dense rain forest, tribal villages and good infrastructure justly make this destination popular among local and overseas travellers.

Our 4 Days Srimangal Holiday Tour will cover all the main attractions in and around Srimangal, such as Lawachara National Forest, Bikka Bil and Hakaluki Haor (wetlands), tribal villages, tea plantations and tea pickers villages, Madhabpur Lake and more.  You’ll also have an opportunity to take early morning walks in the tea plantations and jungle.

If you’re travelling to Srimangal from Dhaka, we can take care of all your travel arrangements, by air or train, and a private transfer from your accommodation.  We have a flexible approach and seek the best experience for our clients, as such, the itinerary can be tailored to your individual needs.


Itinerary

Day1: On arrival in Srimangal (around noon) you’ll be met at the railway station by our guide.  After this we go direct to a local restaurant for lunch, after which you’ll be transferred to your accommodation. This afternoon we explore nearby tea plantations and a tribal village.

Day2: We start early this morning, with a trek through the beautiful Lawachara National Park – this is the best time of day to observe wildlife.  Lawachara is one of the last remaining tropical rain forests in Bangladesh, and home to rare flora and fauna including the endangered Hollock Gibbons.  Dedicated bird watchers and nature lovers from all around the world visit this forest in the hope of sighting a rare species.  During our trek we visit a tribal village deep in the forest.  A unique experience in itself, allowing travellers a brief glimpse of the lives of these little known people. After the trek we return to the resort for a welcome breakfast and a short rest. Later we drive to Barlekha to visit the largest waterfall in the country ‘Madhabkunda’. This beautiful waterfall is surrounded by tropical forest and tea plantations.  On our return to Srimangal we’ll enjoy a stunning sunset in the wetlands area.

Day3: After breakfast we drive for approximately one and a half hours through tea plantations and majestic countryside to Rema Kalenga forest reserve and wildlife sanctuary. This incredible forest has 37 species of mammals, 167 species of birds, 18 species of reptiles and 638 species of plants.  On the return journey to Srimangal you’ll see tea pickers at work and a tribal village. In the early evening we’ll visit the famous Nilkantha Tea Cabin to experience seven layer tea.  Following dinner in the town you’ll be returned to your accommodation.  Overnight in Srimangal.

Day4: This morning will be free for your own activities.  After lunch you’ll be transferred to the railway station to board the afternoon train to Dhaka.

    2. Day 2 Discovering amaezing Lawachara Forest & Madhabkunda Water Falls
